Hello all! It is great to see interest in the area for battling greenhouse gas emissions through our group and the We Campaign... I will try to start checking in more often now.
In case you don't know, the East TN Clean Fuels Coalition (ETCFC - http://www.ETCleanFuels.org/) is a nonprofit that is associated with the University of Tennessee and serves all of the eastern third of the state to work on reducing petroleum consumption, getting a diverse group of fuels in use here, and improving air quality. Of course, we want to see greenhouse gas reductions, too! From our recordkeeping, just biodiesel use in East TN reduced on the order of 6,500 tons of CO2 in 2006 alone! Once I've got complete 2007 numbers, I'll post more on this here.
Also, the easiest way to get plugged in is to come to any of our regional meetings. We have monthly meetings in Knoxville, and every-other-month meetings in Tri-Cities and Chattanooga. All are open to the public; lunch is dutch treat. Check our Website for specific dates, times and locations. We always love to see new faces at the meetings, and find ways to work together to make transportation-fuels-sector change for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Please don't hesitate to email me (jgoverly@utk.edu) if you have a comment or a question! I'll try to check back to this more frequently to provide updates and information.
Peace -- Jonathan
