Club Rescue's Summer/Fall project is to build a PV trailer capable of generating power from the sun. It will be used to provide free, portable energy to any outdoor event. Since we visit many outdoor festivals there will be many opportunities for us to showcase our trailer and everything it can do. We plan on using it to demonstrate to the public that solar energy can very simply be used to power household electronics as well as full sound systems. Additional features we plan on having are a "Green Gaming" area, where kids can play their favorite video games, all using power from the trailer, as well as a built-in misting system to keep visitors cool on hot sunny days.
This is going to be an expensive project, so we are currently looking for funding. If you would like to donate please contact club president Jesse DelBono. See the Club Rescue home page for the E-mail address.

Sounds like you guys have a great idea with the PV Trailer...
Also, you can recoup some of the costs by documenting the design and construction and writing up an article for Mother Earth News or some other evo freindly magazine, again providing others with what they need to know to build one..
Just guessing I would imagine you base it on something like one of those colapseble camping trailers like an Apachy with your batteries on the floor and PV panels stacked over them that you can then pull out and link together on something like canopy frames at the site. That's one method anyway.
I know you can find that type of used camping trailer on Craig's list very cheap, batteries and the PV cells would be the main expense, still I would estimate your cost to build a prototype should be no more than $5,000 Yes, a very doable and insperational project.
I look forward to hearing how it progresses, and if others adopt your plan.
